Names, names, and more! Who Knows my Name before my parents choose it?

Has someone ever forgotten your name or misused it? Maybe you have been teased in grade school until you were in high school, even though your name meant something to you.

If you have just received Christ as your Lord and Savior, God does not forget your name. Yes, that's right!
God, the Almighty Creator, created you in your mother's womb and knows your name BEFORE your parents even thought of a name for you no matter who you are.

Genesis 2:19-20 NIV
[19] Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. [20] So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
Genesis 4:1 NIV
[1] Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man.”
Genesis 4:25-26 NIV
[25] Adam made love to his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.” [26] Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of the Lord.
Exodus 34:1-7 NIV
[1] The Lord said to Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. [2] Be ready in the morning, and then come up on Mount Sinai. Present yourself to me there on top of the mountain. [3] No one is to come with you or be seen anywhere on the mountain; not even the flocks and herds may graze in front of the mountain.” [4] So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the Lord had commanded him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands. [5] Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. [6] And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, [7] maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
Revelation 2:17 NIV
[17] Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

Now, just because someone doesn't remember your name does not mean that God will!
God even knew how you were to be formed and born into this world, even if you are an abortion survivor.

So let's try to cheer each other on by reminding ourselves that God picked out our names before our parents did and knew what and who you would become. Even if you don't feel it!

He loves you!

Blessings!
